Having won twelve prestigious awards previously, including the Standard Life Audience Award at the 2008 Edinburgh International Film Festival, Paul Taylor’s award winning feature length film documentary, We are Together, made a huge impression on the film industry and was released by EMI in May 2008.

We are Together is a documentary that follows the life of a choir of South African children who have been orphaned by AIDS. The film follows the children for three years and focuses on their use of music to deal with the hardship they face.  From coping with a fire at the orphanage, a death of a sibling, the disappointment of a cancelled trip to perform in the UK, to the joy of performing on a New York stage with Alicia Keys and Paul Simon, this is a highly emotive film.

Despite a filming budget of only £6000, We are Together has raised £250,000 to help the orphans of Agape.

Paul’s former tutor, Simon O’Grady, commented,” It was obvious that Paul had a great deal of talent when he was studying here. The professional approach of the Media course helped him to develop the skills he needed to start his career in the film industry. Paul’s film is incredible and I can understand why it has won so many awards. We are Together is a beautiful film.”
