SPECIFIC JOB ROLE DUTIES Associated with the post of:
POST TITLE: Sales and Course Coordinator
SALARY SCALE : Points 20 to 22 on the College Payscale

NOTE:
The following specific Job Role Duties are current as at the date shown above. These duties will be reviewed, normally annually, and, in consultation with the post holder. The College reserves the right to make such changes as deemed necessary and appropriate in support of effective and efficient operational requirements.
Strategy:

Assist with the development and implementation of the Sales & Marketing Strategy.

Assist the Commercial Director & Deputy Commercial Director in the implementation of their areas of work.
Direction:
1. Be responsible for the creation, selling, organisation and administration of programmes and products being promoted by the Commercial Directorate.
2. Act as a key point of contact for all sales enquiries and referrals to ensure that records are accurately maintained and tracked in order to maintain ongoing client relationships.
3. Contribute to the day to day coordination and administration of all programmes and products and be responsible for the development and maintenance of data sources.
4. Ensure prompt responses to email, letter and telephone enquiries
5. Develop and maintain course and product information for use in College sales & marketing materials, such as flyers and the website.
6. Engage with SMEs to identify training needs and propose solutions.
7. Carry out such other duties as may be reasonably requested.
Operational coordination of the Directorate:

Aim to exceed KPIs, agreed each month, for learner numbers, financial targets and new business.

Provide support and motivation to others members of the Directorate and operate effective arrangements for communication with all staff.

Drive effective reporting mechanisms across the Directorate for management and to staff of Curriculum Departments engaged in employer facing provision.

Ensure consistent and full participation within the Directorate in College quality assurance processes including Self Assessment Reports and Management Review Meetings.

Contribute to the training and support of new College Apprentices appointed in the Directorate on product knowledge, systems and procedures.

Act as a conduit between SMEs, external sales agencies and the Marketing Department in order to help to maintain and update the College website with regard to new and existing products .

Assist the Commercial Director and Deputy Commercial Director in ensuring that new products are correctly introduced e.g. in the implementation of any procedures required by Awarding Bodies when introducing new courses.

Operate and participate in the College Performance Appraisal Review system to monitor and review identified individual and Department performance targets and establish staff development planning requirements.
Implementation:

Assist in identifying new opportunities for sales and marketing activities.

Work with any external agencies to identify, plan and coordinate appropriate sales campaigns within the Directorate.

Support all aspects of College sales and marketing and provide assistance whenever possible.

Represent the College at internal and external events.

Positively promote the sales and marketing function across the College.
Administration:

Support the distribution of College publications and promotional materials to clients and venues.

Analyse feedback from customers and clients and implement actions to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Support the continuous maintenance and updating of the website and other sales and marketing materials and initiatives.

Analyse and report on internal and external campaigns to the Deputy Commercial Director.
Qualifications and Experience:
Educated to Degree Level or equivalent - Essential
Good standard of Education to GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C or above - Essential
Excellent IT Skills (eg. ECDL, ITQ Level 2, etc) - Essential
Safeguarding Qualification - Desirable
Experience of working within a similar sales and/or marketing role - Essential
Excellent interpersonal skills - Essential
Sales and Course co-ordination experience within an educational environment - Desirable
Previous experience of working within the Further Education Sector - Desirable
Knowledge of CRMs - Desirable
Experience of telephone selling of events and/or facilities in the hospitality sector - Desirable

3. Appointments
At the conclusion of the interview process, candidates will be notified of the outcome as soon as possible. At this point, it is hoped that any candidate who receives an offer of employment will be able to give an immediate verbal answer. Assuming acceptance, the College will confirm in writing the offer of appointment together with a provisional salary and start date.
All offers of employment made by the College are subject to the following:
1. Documentary evidence of qualifications and verification of date of birth.
2. Documents evidencing proof of permission to work in the UK. Copies of these documents will be retained for the duration of your employment.
3. Two references satisfactory to the College, one should be from either a current or previous employer.
4. Evidence of medical fitness. Following interview, successful candidates will be required to complete a medical questionnaire after which they may be required to undergo a medical examination and/or chest X-ray.
5. Completion of a satisfactory 12 months probationary period.
6. Criminal Records Bureau clearance satisfactory to the College for which you will be asked to supply the following:
A Passport, Driving Licence, Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate and/or Change of Name Deed (if appropriate) and two items of documentation confirming your current address, eg utility bills, bank/credit card statement or library card.
