The Academic English Programme

You will study a range of academic topics such as education, society, politics, business, life science, environmental science and information technology.

 In addition to learning the vocabulary and grammar associated with these topics, you will acquire the ability to:

• take notes, draw flow charts and mind maps
• describe processes, state and change
• identify topics, main points, fact, opinions, arguments, trends
• analyse graphs, charts, statistics and trends
• express addition, enumeration, cause, effect, purpose, contrast and concession
• write essays, reports, paraphrases, summaries, references and bibliographies.
