British Culinary Federation Awards

Alan Deegan from Stratford-upon-Avon College recently received The Robert J Smith Award, a prestigious award given for professionalism in the hospitality industry.

Alan, Hospitality Academic Specialist, has worked within the hospitality industry for 45 years working at prestigious hotels and restaurants in the UK and on the continent. The Robert J Smith Award is given for professionalism and dedication to the hospitality industry and support of the British Culinary Federation.  

Alan began his career at Claridge’s in 1965, later working at Quaglino’s, the Savoy and the Royal Lancaster. He has spent the last thirty years at Stratford-upon-Avon College.

Alan commented, “It was a complete surprise getting this award. I feel so honoured to have been recognised by professionals within the industry.”
