Students from Stratford-upon-Avon College celebrate the best of British popular culture with their performance of 'Cool Britannia!' from 30th November to 2nd December 2011.

In these challenging times, what could be better than celebrating all that is great about Britain? Performing Arts, Theatre Design and Production Arts| students from Stratford-upon-Avon College Warwickshire will be delivering a high-energy variety show that showcases Britain through song, dance and comedy. The performances start at 7.30pm and are being held at The Gordon Vallins Studio, located at the College, from 30th November to 2nd December 2011.

Including extracts from popular West End musicals such as Mary Poppins and Matilda, each performer will deliver their own ‘turn’ highlighting talents in gymnastics, circus skills, Irish dancing, celebrity impressions and tribute acts. A team of designers has created colourful costumes| and set, drawing inspiration from British fashion, icons and landmarks, whilst production students| will be employing extensive technical know-how to deliver vibrant lighting, audio-visual and special effects.

The performance, which is suitable for all ages, concludes with a rousing performance from ‘Last night of the Proms’ providing a patriotic finale that is sure to rally the audience’s spirits.
