Laura Codd, Stratford-upon-Avon College student is shortlisted for the Heinemann and Nursery World Childcare Student of the Year Award.
Laura Codd, a student from Stratford-upon-Avon College, is one of only ten students from across the UK to be shortlisted for the Heinemann and Nursery World Childcare Student of the Year Award.
Laura is currently studying on the BTEC National Diploma Childcare Learning and Development. She is on the second year of the two-year programme and was nominated by college staff earlier this year.
Lindsey Youngs, Programme Area Manager, commented, “Laura demonstrated from the beginning of the course an unparalleled level of enthusiasm and commitment to learn. She has an innate ability to understand the needs and requirements of children. Laura always offers to help, listens to advice and acts upon it and has achieved distinctions in all her subjects. We are delighted she has been shortlisted and look forward to hearing about the next stage of the award.”
The award is sponsored by Heinemann and Nursery World and provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of outstanding childcare students who show the potential to be brilliant childcare practitioners. The award is given to the student who not only performs brilliantly on their course but who also shows the potential to be a great childcare professional.
The winning student receives a cheque for £350 and a year’s subscription to Nursery World magazine. The winning college also receives a prize of £350 Heinemann vouchers. Runner-ups will each receive a cheque for £100 and their colleges will receive £100 of Heinemann vouchers.
