College Student Wins Employee of the Month

Kevin Chevalier French Hosp Management student

A French Hospitality Management student from Stratford-upon-Avon College was voted Employee of the Month at Hotel du Vin in Birmingham.

Kevin Chevalier, who is studying on the Foundation Degree in Hospitality Management, was voted Employee of the Month by both his direct line manager and his general manager. The nomination was granted to Kevin for his customer service, attention to detail, motivation and quality of work.

Tonia Ellis, Lecturer at the College, commented, “Kevin’s performance has been quite exceptional while working at Hotel du Vin, especially as he has only been working there for one year. As a reward he received a bonus, certificate and a bottle of champagne.”

The Foundation Degree in Hospitality Management is a unique higher education opportunity offered by Stratford-upon-Avon College, in conjunction with Thames Valley University. The programme requires one day of study each week for two years enabling students to work and earn money alongside their studies.

A substantial part of the programme involves working in the hospitality industry so students earn and gain relevant experience as they study with us. The emphasis on work experience makes foundation degrees highly valued amongst employers as they promote the development of practical as well as theoretical skills.
