In response to the changing landscape in education, the Stratford-upon-Avon College Warwickshire is in consultation with the aim of opening a Studio School in September 2013.

As part of this consultation process, the College is hosting an Information Evening on Thursday 26 January at 6.30 - 8.00pm, with the aim of giving interested parents advice on what a studio school is and whether it is right for their children. The event will be hosted by Charles Anderson.

A Studio schools is a new type of school aimed at 14-19 year olds and are developed in partnership with local employers. They focus on equipping students with the skills and qualifications they need to succeed in the world of work. They are small, with a maximum size of 300 students. They teach the National Curriculum, including maths, English and science but with a much stronger focus on practical work and enterprise.

The new school, if approved, would look to recruit into years 9, 11, and 12 for entry in September 2012.
