Community Support Event at Stratford Business Services

Stratford Business Services, once again held a successful business start-up event for the local community.

Stratford-upon-Avon College’s business division, Stratford Business Services (SBS), hosted the event at its Cygnet Court premises on Timothy’s Bridge Road on Tuesday 3rd November. The event, delivered in collaboration with HSBC, was open to members of the community who were looking to start-up a business as well as those looking for free advice and guidance to help them survive the current economic downturn.

‘Time to Put the Spark Back” was the fourth of a series of events set up by SBS this year and included a taster session for a course being held at Cygnet Court on 17th November. “Feel the Fear and Do IT Anyway®” is based on the internationally recognised self-help book of the same title by Susan Jeffers PhD and was well received by guests, most of whom are returning for the full session on the 17th. The taster seminar introduced guests to the concept of reversing their self-limiting beliefs and embracing their fears and inhibitions, whether in the workplace or in their personal lives.

Kay Taylor, Vice Principal for Corporate Development said, “We are delighted to be working with HSBC in offering the local community the help and support they need through these difficult times. The feedback we have received from those who attended has been very positive and we look forward to offering more events of this kind next year.”

In 2010, Stratford Business Services will be showcasing their new Job Zone initiative, a job placement service that offers free advice and guidance to individuals looking for a job or a change in career.
