The South Warwickshire Schools and Colleges partnership, working with EBP, invites local employers to join them at the RSC Waterside Space, Stratford-upon-Avon on Wednesday 10 February to find out more about the new Diplomas and how they can influence the delivery of these programmes.
The event, run from 8am until 10am, will give businesses the opportunity to incluence and support the development of the new Diplomas. There will be breakfast provided between 8am and 8:30am followed by presentations and the opportunity to network with colleagues and meet the Diploma deliverers. Employers' knowledge, skills, practical advice and support are vital to the success of these new qualifications for young people aged 14-19. The new Diplomas are offered in this region in the following subjects:
-
Construction and the Built Environment
-
Business Administration and Finance
-
Hospitality and Catering
-
Creative and Media
-
IT
-
Society, Health and Development
-
Sport and Active Leisure
-
Travel and Tourism
-
Engineering
Developed with the help of over 5,000 employers, Diplomas cover 17 subjects and put employers firmly in the driving seat of what young people learn. Diplomas help equip students with the attributes you are looking for. Young people will gain the knowledge, skills and experience needed for work in your sector through theoretical study and practical experience. To get a Diploma young people will have to demonstrate they have a good understanding of English, Mathematics and ICT, along with better employability skills. Diplomas will have a positive impact on your business because young people will enter the workforce with more relevant skills and an understanding of work. Little surprise then that Vodafone, Rolls Royce, Cisco, BT and a host of other key employers already support Diplomas.
