Becky Foster, a former Stratford-upon-Avon College student from Birmingham, is launching a new dance company this month.
Nova Dance Company will be based at Stratford-upon-Avon College and aims to provide new and further opportunities in Stratford-upon-Avon for anyone aged 14-19 years to learn fun and dynamic contemporary dance routines and experiment with improvisation and choreography.
Becky, studied on the BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts (Musical Theatre) from 2004 to 2006 at the College. Speaking about the course she said, “I felt so privileged to be in an environment where I felt extremely valued as both an individual and a training performing artist. Over the two years at the College, I took part in a variety of fantastic performance projects and improved hugely, in skills and in confidence, from working with excellent lecturers and other like-minded students.”
Nova Dance Company will be opening with a series of 6 weekly taster sessions starting Tuesday October 5th including an audition on the final week (16th November) for permanent company members. The company rehearsals will start in December and will involve working on new pieces of choreography to perform in a range of local and regional events in 2011.
