Hospitality & Catering students worked at a very high profile event at the Westbury Hotel last week.

On Thursday 27th January, twenty one students travelled down to London to work at MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation Dinner and rubbed shoulders with Kelly Rowland (Destiny’s Child), Sarah Harding (Girls Aloud), Harvey Goldsmith (the creator of Band Aid) and many more! The dinner was in aid of Bill Roedy’s retirement, the Chairman and Chief Executive of MTV Networks International.

Five students on the Advanced Culinary Diploma worked in the kitchen with first and second year students helping with service in the dining room for the 220 guests of music VIPs.

Maria Skinner, a second year student, commented, “I had a long but enjoyable day. Experiencing 5 star standard cooking with top quality chefs was priceless.”

Pete McNally, another student on the course, said, “It was a valuable experience working as a waiter at the event. It was a very enjoyable experience and interesting to meet some famous people.”
