The winners of the 2011 Photomarathon competition were unveiled this week, following the one-day photographic event that took place at Stratford-upon-Avon College on Wednesday 2^nd February.

The judges presented the students with four themes which they had to respond to throughout the day; they were Ageless, Excite, Dream and Flamboyant. 

From over 100 participants, Hannah Sorrell, a National Diploma Interactive Media student, was crowned this year's overall winner and wins £50 worth of Nova vouchers, kindly donated by Ian Windebank of The Imaging Warehouse. 

Ian, Marketing and Sales for PermaJet and Nova Darkroom (part of The Imaging Warehouse), commented, “PermaJet are always proud to be associated with up and coming artists and this year was a cracker. With such a varied mix of styles, imagination and ideas, it shows that Stratford-upon-Avon College is really trying to push the boundaries of what photography means in a modern day society. Well done to all the entrants and I look forward to next year’s event.”

Martin Penny, Principal, said, “It was a great competition to judge with a wide variety of excellent pictures to decide between. It showed the high standard of professional work that the College students produce.”

An exhibition of the winning images will take place at the College in a few weeks’ time.
