HND Media students from Stratford-upon-Avon College bring you the third instalment of Reverb Live – a live television programme showcasing the newest, unsigned musicians and bands from Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding area.
This evening of musical excellence takes place at Stratford-upon-Avon’s Civic Hall on Wednesday 26th May 2010.
The original idea for the programme derived from students watching the BBC series ‘Later with Jools Holland’. This popular music show inspired college student David Reid to create a similar programme for his final project. One factor that must be acknowledged about this extravaganza is that the show only features unsigned musicians and pushes the college’s media resources to the limits in order to produce an industry-standard music television programme.
The Higher Education students at the college are currently the only student group producing a show of this context and to such high quality. For the past two years passionate individuals across three year groups, outside volunteers and ex-college students come together to form a professional studio crew, which has resulted in two very successful episodes plus many happy memories for all those involved.
From working on this production, students obtain valuable work experience, which they can then apply within industry as they move on to more exciting projects. This project requires a lot of dedication and passion for it to be the show it is renown for and as a student in the media department I can be sure there will be no lack of these qualities throughout the production.
This year students are taking the programme to a new and more challenging level by hosting the broadcast live from The Civic Hall on their newly established Internet television channel (www.stratcast.co.uk|). Tickets are available but availability is limited. You can book your tickets by emailing a request to reverb2010@live.com|. As with many student projects there are sponsorship opportunities so please do get in touch with us if you are interested.
